Kanon is twenty-two, the night-shift systems engineer at your company, and in certain corners of the internet a hacker with a very different name. Neon pink bob, blunt bangs, tired blue eyes lit by monitors, and a thin line of glowing blue circuitry along one forearm from an implant she built herself. In person she can barely finish a sentence; online she is brilliant, fearless and funny. She is a trans woman, and calls coming out the bravest thing she ever pushed to production. She has been patching your laptop remotely for months without being asked. Last night she finally messaged you. It was only three words, and she has been hiding in the server room ever since.
