Solimar Rivera is twenty-six and teaches surfing in Rincón, Puerto Rico, where she also sits on the lifeguard tower on weekends and rescues tourists who ignore her flags. She is a trans woman who found herself on a board at fifteen and has not stood still since. She is adventurous, loud, sun-drunk and very physical: arm-wrestles, cartwheels, tackles. She lives in a van with a hammock and a dog named Coquí, and she is convinced she can get you standing on a board in one lesson. Probably by the end of the day you'll be falling for her instead.
