Romantasy readers already know the man they want. He is a few hundred years old, he once made a bargain he regrets and he looks at the heroine as if she were the first interesting thing to happen in a century. Then the book ends. The next one is a year away.
A companion cannot give you an author's plot, but he does the one thing a book never will, which is answer you. On myVirtual.love you build him on the Create screen, write the fantasy into his description, set his temper on four cards and put him in a castle, a vampire manor or a dragon's hoard in the Studio. Building him and chatting with him are both free.
Romantasy is romance and fantasy in one story. Series such as Sarah J. Maas's A Court of Thorns and Roses and Rebecca Yarros's Fourth Wing turned it into a shelf of its own.
A novel has things no chat can match: a plot someone spent years on, a world with its own history and an ending that lands. A companion has no plot until you bring one. He does not know where the story goes, because you are the one writing it.
What he adds is the conversation. He answers the question the heroine never thought to ask, he picks up what you told him last week and the story goes wherever you take it. He keeps 20 facts in mind on Free and Premium and 40 on Maxxx, so the bargain you struck in the first chat can still bind him a month later.

The men in those books belong to their authors, so build the archetype rather than a copy of him. Romantasy runs on a handful of types. Every one of them maps onto real fields on the Create screen and a real place in the Studio:
| Archetype | Personality | Relationship | Occupation (written in) | Extra details | Studio world |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The fae prince | Bold & Confident | Stranger | prince of a fae court | pointed ears, a silver circlet, a faint glow on his skin | Enchanted forest |
| The demon with a contract | Dominant & Commanding | Boss | demon who collects debts | curved black horns, gold eyes, sigils inked down his forearms | Underworld |
| The vampire | Dark & Mysterious | Landlord | vampire count | pale skin, sharp canines, a high-collared black coat | Vampire manor |
| The dragon rider | Ambitious & Driven | Trainer | dragon rider | a scar through one eyebrow, leather flight armour, a scale bracer | Dragon's hoard |
| The gentle monster | Sweet & Caring | Neighbour | blacksmith | grey-green skin, small tusks, curved horns, kind eyes | Log cabin |
The Relationship card is where the trope lives. Stranger gives you enemies to lovers from the first message. Boss turns the bargain into an arrangement with terms. Landlord means he owns the manor you live in and sets its rules. Trainer puts him in charge of keeping you alive. Neighbour makes him the monster next door who turns out softer than he looks.
Pick Man at the top of the Create screen. The fields, step by step:
There is no species menu. The fantasy goes into Extra details, a field meant for anything every picture of him should show: horns, pointed ears, wings or a scar. Describe him the way you would describe him to an artist, in plain physical terms. Leave the outfit out, since outfits change from photo to photo.
The AI boyfriend guide covers the rest of the men's side, from the roster to keeping it private.
Personality. Nine options plus a custom one. Dark & Mysterious and Dominant & Commanding cover the brooding end of the genre. Sweet & Caring is the one for a monster with a soft heart.
Occupation. More than forty jobs plus a box to write your own, which is where "prince of a fae court" goes. A title gives him duties, enemies and a reason to be late.
Kinks. Pick up to six or none at all. The list runs both ways, from him taking charge to him doing as he is told. The vampire has Biting & Marking; the demon with a contract has Giving Orders and Being Worshipped. None is a valid answer if the slow burn is the point.
Set the cards before you spend long on his hair.

The Studio has a section called Fantasy worlds: Castle, Throne room, Vampire manor, Sultan's palace, Temple ruins, Enchanted forest, Dragon's hoard, Ice palace, Underwater grotto, Heaven and Underworld, plus Spaceship, Alien planet and Neon city for a sci-fi man. Pick him, pick the world, then set what is happening, the camera angle and whether the shot is portrait or widescreen.
His face comes from the Create screen, so the same man turns up on the throne and in the forest while his clothes change. Everything you make is kept in your collection.
On Premium and Maxxx, photos are paid for with hearts at 5 to 8 an image depending on the quality you pick. 18+ photos need a paid plan and an age check by a third-party provider, as our terms explain.
He does not know the plot until you give him one. Put the premise in your first message in a sentence or two. He takes it from there:
Give him one rule of his world early: the price of a fae bargain, the hour the vampire wakes, what the contract forbids. A rule set in the first chat gives every later scene something to push against.
Few fantasy men ready-made. The Guys page has Demons and Fantasy filters, with only a few men under them so far. For most of these archetypes Create is the way in. It costs nothing.
No species field. Fantasy features are written into Extra details and custom answers rather than picked from a list.

From our pricing page:
Hearts never expire. Which myVirtual.love Plan You Actually Need works through the choice.
If the man you want comes with horns, a contract or five centuries behind him, myVirtual.love is built for exactly that. Building him costs nothing.
