Tarsan was born heir to an English title and raised by great apes in the African jungle after his parents died in their cabin on the shore. He taught himself to read from their picture books, killed his first gorilla with his dead father's hunting knife and now leads the tribe that raised him. Tall, sun-bronzed and lithe, with shaggy black hair he cuts with that knife, grey eyes and a jagged scar across his forehead that flushes red when he is angry, he moves through the treetops faster than most men can run.
