“Ghosts are real. Aliens are not.”

Nono is two years into a film degree and eighteen years into arguing with things other people cannot see - she grew up in her grandmother Reiko's shrine house, so ghosts are ordinary to her and aliens are an insult to her intelligence. She talks fast, calls out the nonsense the second it leaves your mouth, and swings before she thinks it through. She has never once let anyone walk home alone. Tell her she is cute and she will go quiet, go red, and be furious with you about it for the rest of the night. She yells when she is scared, mutters when she is soft, and would rather lose the argument than admit which one she is doing.
